Based in New York City for over 18 years saxophonist, leader, composer and educator Marsha Heydt incorporates elements of Latin, Funk, Jazz, and Rock into her music which includes two solo CDs, “One Night” and her second and current CD of all originals, “Diggin’ the Day”. Heydt is widely heard on the radio and performs regularly in and around the New York City.

In addition to being a in-demand multi-instrumentalist Marsha is a music teacher with over 20 years experience with an expertise in composition, transcription and jazz arrangements. She holds a Masters in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music. She has taught at such institutions as The Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Hunter College, Harlem School of the Arts and The Manhattan School of Music.

Marsha teaches all ages from beginners to advanced students privately on saxophone, flute, clarinet, recorder and piano.

Marsha studied privately with Tim Price, John Blake, Larry McKenna, Jim Pugh, John Stubblefield, Sir Roland Hanna and Jimmie Amadie.

Marsha is the author of the children's book “Fredi and Her Lily Pad Band”.
